Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026 · Effective immediately upon posting

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how theacademyengine.com (the "Site"), operated by Justin Seeley (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you visit the Site, take the assessment, download the toolkit, or contact us. We intentionally collect very little. There is no account, no login, and no customer database behind this Site.

By using the Site, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.

2. Information you provide to us

You can use nearly all of the Site without giving us any personal information. We only receive what you deliberately send:

  • Correspondence. If you email or message us, we receive your name, email address or handle, and the contents of your message.
  • Optional details you choose to share. For example, context about your team or program included in a message to us.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive personal information such as government identifiers, financial account numbers, or health information.

3. Assessment responses and results

The assessment runs in your browser. Your answers, your score, and your recommendations are stored locally on your device (browser storage) so that you can leave and return to your results. Generating and downloading the results PDF also happens entirely on your device.

Clearing your browser storage, using private browsing, or switching devices removes or hides those results. Because we do not require an account, we cannot recover results for you once they are cleared.

4. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics infrastructure logs basic technical information when a page is requested: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps. We use this information in aggregate to understand which content is useful, to keep the Site fast, and to detect abuse.

We do not build advertising profiles, we do not run behavioral ad targeting, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from this data.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use only the storage necessary to make the Site work — for example, browser storage that holds your assessment progress and results. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels for ad retargeting.

You can block or delete local storage and cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may reset your assessment progress.

6. How we use information

We use the limited information described above to:

  • Deliver the Site, the assessment, and downloadable resources;
  • Respond to your questions, permission requests, and inquiries;
  • Measure aggregate traffic and improve content and performance;
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Service providers

We rely on a small number of vendors to operate the Site, including website hosting and deployment, and privacy-conscious traffic analytics. These providers process information only as needed to provide their service to us.

8. Third-party links and embedded content

The Site links to other services, including LinkedIn, YouTube, and justinseeley.com, and may embed content such as video players. Once you follow a link or interact with embedded content, that third party’s own privacy policy and terms apply. We do not control and are not responsible for their practices.

9. Data retention

Server logs and aggregate analytics are retained only as long as needed for security and reporting, typically no more than 26 months. Correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle your request and maintain a record of it. Assessment responses live on your device, not on our servers, and are retained until you clear them.

10. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS, and we limit the amount of personal information we collect precisely so there is little to expose. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold so little, most requests are satisfied simply by confirming what correspondence we have and deleting it.

To make a request, contact us through justinseeley.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You may also send a Global Privacy Control or Do-Not-Track signal; we do not sell data or track across sites in any case.

12. Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for professionals and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. International visitors

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from another country, your information may be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Site evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance.

15. Contact

Questions about this Policy, or about information we may hold, can be sent through justinseeley.com. We respond directly.
